Khorixas Restcamp is situated on the outskirts of the small town of Khorixas in the heart of Damaraland and is considered a convenient stopover on the route between Etosha National Park, the Skeleton Coast and Kaokoland. Surrounded by the rugged hills and vast landscapes of northwestern Namibia, the lodge offers a peaceful atmosphere for travelers wishing to explore the geological and cultural highlights of the region. The restcamp is operated by Namibia Wildlife Resorts, the state-owned company managing numerous lodges and accommodations within Namibia’s national parks and conservation areas.

Accommodation at Khorixas Restcamp
Guests can choose between single rooms, bush chalets, family chalets and campsites. The single rooms are equipped with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The bush chalets provide greater privacy in a natural setting and some include barbecue facilities. Larger chalets offer additional amenities such as refrigerators and seating areas. For families or self-catering travellers, two spacious family chalets are available, featuring two bedrooms, a kitchen, air conditioning and television. The accommodation is complemented by approximately twenty campsites with shared ablution facilities, kitchen areas and barbecue spaces.
In addition to the accommodation, Khorixas Restcamp offers a restaurant, a bar with a pool table, and a swimming pool that provides welcome relief during the hot summer days.
Activities and tours at Khorixas Restcamp
Nearby attractions include the Petrified Forest, the famous rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, the Vingerklip rock formation and Burnt Mountain with its rare geological features. Twyfelfontein in particular holds great significance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to the preservation of prehistoric rock art, making the region an important center for archaeological and cultural conservation.
The remarkable desert plant Welwitschia mirabilis can also be found in parts of Damaraland and symbolizes the extraordinary resilience of nature in this arid environment.
