Madisa Camp is located in Damaraland between Uis and Khorixas, set among striking granite and sandstone formations along the Goantagab riverbed. Madisa is only 50 km from the famous rock engravings at Twyfelfontein and is also located in the territory of desert elephants, which follow natural migration corridors and regularly cross the camp. All this makes Madisa a good starting point for excursions into one of the most exciting regions of Namibia.

Accommodation at Madisa Camp
The camp is part of a joint venture initiative with the local Sorris-Sorris Conservancy and follows a sustainable, environmentally responsible tourism approach. The aim is to protect the region's sensitive flora and fauna while simultaneously allowing visitors to have an intense nature experience.
Accommodation includes private, shaded campsites located directly in the riverbed, each with its own fire pit, water connection, and individually designed ablution facilities, some of which are elevated and integrated into the surrounding vegetation. In addition, there are overland campsites with shared ablution facilities near the pool and bar area, as well as five safari tents that offer comfortable glamping with permanently installed open-air bathrooms.
The infrastructure is intentionally simple and environmentally focused. Electricity is provided only during limited hours and is largely based on sustainable energy solutions. A central highlight is the natural stone swimming pool, which blends seamlessly into the rocky landscape and serves as a relaxation area after day excursions. In the evenings, guests often gather around the campfire, while the clear desert skies provide ideal conditions for stargazing.
Activities and tours at Madisa Camp
Guided elephant tracking tours offer insights into the behaviour of desert-adapted elephants and their ability to survive in extreme environmental conditions. In addition, scenic sundowner drives, guided hikes, village visits, and excursions to nearby attractions such as Twyfelfontein, the Brandberg, or the Petrified Forest are available.
