Plateau lodge at the Ugab terraces

High above the dry Ugab River between Khorixas and Outjo, the Ugab Terrace Lodge sits on a plateau with spectacular views over the Damaraland landscape. The panoramas are especially striking at sunrise and sunset, turning a stay here into an intense nature experience. Thanks to its quiet yet easily accessible location, the lodge is an ideal stopover between Etosha, Damaraland, and the coast.

Accommodation at Ugab Terrace Lodge

The lodge offers 16 spacious chalets arranged in a semicircle along the edge of the plateau, giving all guests unobstructed views of the Ugab Valley. Each chalet is bright and stylishly decorated in Namibian style, featuring a private bathroom with shower and toilet, as well as a terrace or balcony. For camping enthusiasts, three well-maintained campsites are available, each with a barbecue area, basin, and shared sanitary facilities.

The heart of the lodge is the main building with a restaurant and bar serving regional and international dishes. A swimming pool built into the rocks, a sun deck, Wi-Fi, and parking complete the lodge’s amenities, providing a relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the wilderness.

Activities and tours at Ugab Terrace Lodge

The lodge is a base for a variety of nature experiences and adventures. It is especially known for its spectacular zipline, one of the longest in Namibia, stretching several hundred meters along the cliff edges. Guests can also enjoy guided walks of varying difficulty, mountain biking, and game drives through the diverse landscape of mesas, dry riverbeds, and striking rock formations. Bird watching, stargazing, and excursions to regional highlights such as the Vingerklip, the Petrified Forest, or the rock engravings of Twyfelfontein are also part of the lodge’s activity offerings.
