Etusis Lodge is located roughly halfway between Windhoek and Swakopmund, at the foot of the Otjipatera mountain massif in the Etusis marble mountains near Karibib. It is situated within a 22,000-hectare private nature and wildlife conservation area that originally developed from an agricultural farm and has been transformed since the 1990s into a conservation and eco-tourism destination. Due to the absence of game fencing, wildlife such as zebras, antelopes, giraffes, and also predators are able to maintain their natural migration patterns.

Accommodation at Etusis Lodge
The lodge buildings are constructed from local natural stone and feature thatched roofs, allowing the complex to blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. The main building includes a restaurant, bar, and a spacious terrace overlooking a nearby waterhole that is regularly visited by wildlife. The facilities are complemented by a swimming pool area and a small museum offering insights into the history of the region and the former farm.
The bungalows are generously designed and offer private bathrooms as well as individual locations across the property. The luxury tents are also set well apart from each other and come with en-suite bathrooms. The farm house at Etusis Lodge is a self-catering unit with a kitchen and living area, three double rooms each with a private bathroom, and one single room. The camping area is located about 20 km from the main lodge building. Each of the few campsites is shaded by trees and bushland and includes a private barbecue (braai) area. Sanitary facilities are shared among campers.
Activities and tours at Etusis Lodge
Guided game drives in open safari vehicles, hikes through the mountainous landscape, and horseback riding on sturdy horses are among the main activities offered. Guests can also take part in farm drives, bird watching, and sundowner experiences.
