Named after the Swedish explorer Charles Andersson,the elegant luxury lodge Anderssons at Ongava is situated in the private Ongava Game Reserve directly on the southern boundary of the renowned Etosha National Park. Set within a wildlife-rich concession of approximately 30,000 hectares, the lodge combines modern design, research, and conservation with exceptional wildlife experiences in one of Namibia’s premier safari regions.

Accommodation at Anderssons at Ongava
The lodge features a total of eight spacious suites, including seven luxurious guest suites and one generous family suite consisting of two separate units connected by a short walkway. Constructed from natural stone and glass, the suites blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. Each unit offers an air-conditioned bedroom, a large en-suite bathroom with separate toilet, double basins, and both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a private viewing veranda with sweeping 180-degree views over the bushveld.
The central main building forms the social heart of the lodge and includes an open lounge with bar, both indoor and outdoor dining areas, and an expansive terrace overlooking a frequently visited waterhole. Additional facilities include an infinity pool, a library, and a curio shop. The lodge’s close association with the Ongava Research Centre also provides guests with fascinating insights into ongoing research and conservation projects focusing on rhinos and other wildlife.
Activities and tours at Anderssons at Ongava
Activities include guided morning and afternoon game drives in both the private Ongava Game Reserve and the central areas of Etosha National Park. Night drives within the reserve offer opportunities to encounter nocturnal species, while guided bush walks provide in-depth insights into the flora, fauna, and tracking techniques of the region. Birdwatching, wildlife viewing at the waterhole, and visits to the Ongava Research Centre are also part of the program. With a bit of luck, guests may also encounter both black and white rhinos, for whose protection Ongava is internationally renowned.
