Luxury camp south of Etosha
The stylish safari camp Encounter by Ongava is located in the private Ongava Game Reserve directly on the southern boundary of the famous Etosha National Park and combines exclusive comfort with exceptional wildlife viewing. Its secluded setting within a private conservation area of around 30,000 hectares allows for intensive game viewing away from public roads, while excursions into Etosha National Park are also possible.

Accommodation at Encounter by Ongava
The camp is intentionally small and consists of a total of nine luxurious tented suites set on raised wooden decks, harmoniously integrated into the bush landscape. Six tents are designed as twin suites with two single beds each, complemented by two double suites as well as a spacious family suite with two separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. All accommodations feature an open en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a fan, safe, tea and coffee station, and a private veranda overlooking the natural surroundings.
The central main building includes an open lounge, bar, and dining area, as well as a large terrace overlooking a floodlit waterhole that regularly attracts wildlife. A swimming pool provides welcome refreshment on hot days and enhances the relaxed, exclusive atmosphere of the camp.
Activities and tours at Encounter by Ongava
Activities on offer include guided morning and afternoon game drives, night drives within the private reserve, and bush walks with experienced rangers. Ongava is particularly renowned for its rhino conservation efforts, and approaching white rhinos on foot—subject to availability—can be one of the most memorable experiences. The program is complemented by excursions into Etosha National Park and wildlife viewing at the waterhole.
