Norotshama River Resort is situated in the far south of Namibia on the Aussenkehr farms in the Karas Region, directly on the banks of the Orange River. Nestled within the fertile Aussenkehr Grape Valley, the resort creates a striking contrast to the surrounding semi-desert landscape along the border between Namibia and South Africa. The history of the resort is closely linked to the development of the Aussenkehr Valley. The name “Norotshama” originates from a nearby mountain and is derived from a local indigenous language.

Guests can choose from a total of 36 air-conditioned accommodation units in various categories. These include suites located directly on the riverbank, traditional thatched chalets, family chalets accommodating up to four guests, riverside chalets, as well as modern suites and rooms overlooking a small lake within the resort grounds. Depending on the category, rooms feature private terraces, outdoor seating areas, a refrigerator, tea and coffee-making facilities, a hairdryer, and additional comfort amenities. Spacious campsites are also available for travellers with tents or camping equipment.
Shared facilities include an à la carte restaurant, a bar, and a swimming pool. The restaurant is particularly known for its grilled dishes and also offers a selection of salads, main courses, pizzas, desserts, and a carefully curated wine list. The resort offers a wide variety of leisure activities. Guests can enjoy canoeing and rafting on the Orange River, fishing and fly-fishing, birdwatching, or exploring the surrounding area on foot or by mountain bike. Additional activities include 4x4 trails, guided excursions, and sport climbing. The surrounding region also holds cultural and historical significance, with nearby relics from the German colonial era and areas renowned for their free-roaming Namib Wild Horses.
