Accommodation at the Orange River
Provenance Camp is situated in southern Namibia on the banks of the Orange River in the Karas Region, approximately 13 km from Noordoewer and the border with South Africa. The landscape along the Orange River defines the character of the camp. Forming the natural boundary between Namibia and South Africa, the river flows through an almost untouched region of striking rock formations, dry bushveld and a surprisingly diverse riverine vegetation.

Accommodation at Provenance Camp
The camp offers a total of 20 accommodation units, including 17 Standard cabanas for two guests each, two Family cabanas accommodating up to four guests, and one Honeymoon suite designed for couples. The first ten Standard cabanas are located directly on the banks of the Orange River, while the remaining units are built on a gentle hillside, providing elevated views of the surrounding landscape. All accommodations feature en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The rooms are offered on a room-only basis, and there are no self-catering or barbecue facilities available.
The restaurant, perched on a hill overlooking the river, serves as the central gathering place of the camp. From here, guests enjoy panoramic views of the Orange River and its lush riverside vegetation. Additional communal facilities include a swimming pool with a bar area and several outdoor seating areas. Guests also have access to Wi-Fi, a small shop and further guest services.
Activities and tours at Provenance Camp
The area is particularly rewarding for birdwatchers, with numerous bird species frequently seen during the early morning and late afternoon hours, while the clear night skies create ideal conditions for stargazing. Canoeing and rafting excursions on the Orange River are among the most popular activities, ranging from leisurely day trips to longer adventures on the water. Fishing is another favourite pastime. Guests wishing to explore the surrounding area can visit the nearby Aussenkehr Nature Park, where dramatic desert scenery and river landscapes create a striking contrast to the green riverbanks of the Orange River.
