Lodge in Gobabis
Goba Lodge is set on a spacious 9-hectare property along the Black Nossob River in the town of Gobabis in the Omaheke Region, about 270 km east of Windhoek. The lodge is an ideal stopover for travellers heading to Botswana as well as for visitors wishing to explore the eastern parts of Namibia.
Accommodation at Goba Lodge
The lodge rooms are equipped with double or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, Smart TV, desk, safe, microwave, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Families and self-catering guests can choose larger units featuring a lounge area and kitchenette, while campers can enjoy shaded campsites with electricity and water connections.
At the heart of the lodge is the on-site restaurant, renowned for its hearty cuisine. Its meat dishes are particularly popular, which comes as no surprise in Namibia’s cattle-farming region. Guests can also relax in the spacious outdoor area with gardens, barbecue facilities, and seating areas. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, while CCTV surveillance and night guards ensure guests’ safety.
The lodge is equally well suited for events and celebrations. An air-conditioned conference hall with projector and sound system provides space for workshops, meetings, and private functions. Depending on the seating arrangement, it can accommodate up to 120 guests. Tailor-made menus and various catering options complete the offering for business and family events.
Activities and tours at Goba Lodge
Walking trails and leisurely hikes lead through the well-kept grounds and surrounding area, while jogging and mountain biking offer additional opportunities for outdoor recreation. A swimming pool and tennis court provide welcome refreshment and entertainment on warm days. Along the river, visitors can spot Egyptian geese as well as a variety of ducks and other waterbirds. A nearby game enclosure is home to animals such as oryx, springbok, blesbok, and ostriches. Also worth a visit is the Herero Stone Chapel, a memorial site commemorating the history of the Herero people and the victims of the Herero and Nama War of 1904 to 1908.
