The Kalahari Bush Breaks Lodge is located in eastern Namibia within a private farm and wildlife reserve covering approximately 25,000 hectares. It is situated about 85 km from Gobabis, directly on the B6, also known as the Trans Kalahari Highway. This convenient location makes it an ideal stopover for travellers journeying between Windhoek and Botswana. Guests can experience the impressive vastness of the Kalahari, with its open plains, acacia woodlands, and abundant wildlife right on the doorstep.

Accommodation at Kalahari Bush Breaks
The lodge is run by the Barnard family, whose roots lie deep in Namibian agriculture. The combination of cattle farming, wildlife management, and a family-run guest farm gives the property its distinctive and authentic character.
The lodge offers six tastefully designed chalets, including standard and family rooms, accommodating up to twelve adults and four children in total. The units are comfortably furnished, combining natural building materials with modern comfort. The heart of the lodge is the spacious covered lapa with an open fireplace – an inviting gathering place to relax and unwind. The well-kept garden is shaded by large trees and overlooks a floodlit waterhole where guests can observe a variety of wildlife and bird species throughout the day.
The accommodation options are complemented by several comfortable campsites with electricity points, barbecue facilities, and modern ablution blocks – perfect for travellers who want to combine outdoor living with convenience.
Activities and tours at Kalahari Bush Breaks
One of the most popular activities is the approximately 20-km self-drive 4x4 route that leads through the farm, giving visitors access to beautiful landscapes as well as ancient Bushman engravings along the way. Three marked hiking trails invite guests to explore the surroundings on foot and enjoy sweeping views stretching as far as Botswana. Experienced riders can prebook horse trails. The area is also a paradise for wildlife and bird enthusiasts, with more than 30 species of game and numerous bird species found on the property.
