Baobab Game Ranch is an owner-run and very intimate guest and game farm in the north of Namibia. The game ranch offers accommodation in 4 comfortable rooms on a dinner, bed and breakfast base. The name of the game ranch is derived from the majestic, approximately 2000 year old Baobab found on the farm.
Baobab Game Ranch is run by the Friedrich family, who have lived and worked on farm Driehoek since 1903. Here the family works together with Hai||om San. Helmut and Frank Friedrich speak the San language fluently as the grew up with them as kids.
The Baobab Game Ranch is situated in the north of Namibia half way between the Etosha National Park and the Kavango capital Rundu and is thus an ideal stop over for visitors traveling from Etosha to the Okavango.
Guests are accommodated in four luxurious, spacious en-suite rooms with shower and toilet. Every room is fitted with a safe and has 220 V electricity. Every room has access to its own cosy veranda with vistas of the surrounding nature and the early morning sunrise.
The Baobab Game Ranch is situated amidst pristine landscapes in northern Namibia. The farm is dominated by open steppes covered by silver grass, Ilala Palm islands and shrub and tree savanna. The amount of game present is remarkable.
Baobab Game Ranch offers several activities. Around the house guests have excellent bird watching opportunities. Game can best be viewed at the waterhole or during a nature drive. Of course, the huge baobab and name giver of the farm can be visited.
Special highlight is a trip with a Hai||om tracker. As Helmut speaks the language, he guides the tour as translator and adds a lot of information on the cultural background of the San.
