Accommodation at Wolwedans Plains Camp
A minimum stay of 2 nights is required at Wolwedans. Plains Camp offers exclusive accommodation for a maximum of 8 adults and 4 children in a luxurious desert villa. It features two master suites and two guest rooms – all with en-suite bathrooms. The open-plan architecture of wood and canvas seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing for impressive views of the surrounding desert landscape.
At the heart of the camp is a spacious lounge, living and dining area, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. Several viewing decks invite guests to observe the ever-changing colours of the desert. The experience is complemented by a pool area, a courtyard, and various quiet spots where guests can enjoy the remarkable silence of the Namib. During their stay, guests are also provided with a private guide and dedicated vehicle, a private chef, and a highly attentive service team.
Activities and tours at Wolwedans Plains Camp
Wolwedans has followed a consistently sustainable approach for many years: through initiatives such as AridEden and training programmes for young Namibians, the camp supports conservation efforts, education, and regional development. The goal is to preserve the unique desert landscape in the long term while also creating economic opportunities for local communities.
Plains Camp offers guided nature and landscape drives at sunrise and sunset, extended day excursions across the reserve, guided Bushman walks, which share traditional knowledge of the desert. In addition, stargazing is offered under the exceptionally clear skies of the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Depending on interest, e-bike tours, horse riding excursions, and hot air balloon flights can also be arranged.
