Lodge and Game Reserve at the Waterberg

Wabi Game Lodge stands for the spirit of a true African Safari.  Wabi is a privately owned Game Reserve at the foot of the majestic Waterberg. There are about 30 species of game and 230 species of birds. Especially water buffalo,  hippo and giraffe are loved by photographers.

The game reserve is nestled at the edge of a dry river bed, in which century-old by law protected Camelthorn trees grow. The lodge is surrounded by a green garden that will provide a heaven for the visitor to relax and unwind. Nocturnal wildlife such as Porcupine, Springhare, Genet Cat and Bush Babies live within this garden and during the day you the visitors might observe Nyala antelopes sneaking through the bush within the Wabi garden.

After a hot days activities the sparkling swimming pool offers a great refreshment. Wabi stands for the spirit of a true African Safari.   

Accommodation

Consisting of 8 bungalows with en-suite bathrooms and modern amenities, both accommodation and cuisine reflect the Swiss heritage of the hosts, Mark and Christine.

Activities

WABI offers activities that the traveller will not find elsewhere along the Waterberg: The massive Waterberg Plateau with its unique red sandstone formations, which in the brilliance of evening lights appear to be on fire. The view of this spectacular sight will sear itself into your memory wanting you to come back for more.

On the gamedrives you will see Water Buffalo, Roan Antelope, Sable, Waterbuck, Nyala, Red Letschwe, Giraffe, Zebra and even Hippo, among many others. There is also a rare chance to see Leopard, Cheetah and Brown Hyena.

Further activities at Wabi include

  • Extended hiking tours on and around the Waterberg Plateau at WABI which owns more more than 7'000 ha on the Plateau,
  • Sundowners at Hippolake,
  • Mountain drives and mountain sundowners on the Waterberg Plateau,
  • Hiking tours in the dry riverbed near which the Lodge has been built.
