Lodge and campsite on the edge of Khomas Highlands
Stofpad Lodge is situated on a family-owned farm on the edge of the Khomas Highlands, approximately a two-hour drive southwest of Windhoek. The name "Stofpad", the Afrikaans word for a gravel or dirt road, reflects Namibia's characteristic landscapes and the property's rural setting. The lodge has remained in the same family for generations and places a strong emphasis on supporting the local community. Many of the products used on the farm are either produced on-site or sourced from Namibian suppliers, helping to promote local businesses and artisans.

Accommodation at Stofpad Lodge
Guests can choose from comfortable bed and breakfast rooms featuring en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a private terrace or veranda overlooking the surrounding mountains. Families and self-catering travellers are accommodated in modern one- and two-bedroom chalets with fully equipped kitchens, open-plan living and dining areas, air conditioning, spacious bathrooms with rain showers, and covered patios with barbecue facilities. The accommodation is complemented by well-maintained camping facilities. Luxury campsites include a private kitchenette, electricity and water connections, a private bathroom with shower, barbecue area, fire pit, and ample space for rooftop tents, caravans or trailers. Standard campsites with shared ablution facilities are also available.
The lodge's communal facilities include a restaurant serving locally inspired cuisine, a farm shop offering Namibian specialties and handcrafted products, and a spacious swimming pool overlooking the surrounding mountains. A small wellness area provides a range of relaxing treatments after a day of exploring. Families benefit from a children's playground and extensive open spaces, while fire pits create the perfect setting for relaxed evenings beneath Namibia's spectacular star-filled skies.
A special feature of the lodge is the on-site Stofpad Brewery. The modern microbrewery produces a selection of handcrafted beers, including a Lager, Pale Ale and IPA, which are available exclusively at the lodge.
Activities and tours at Stofpad Lodge
Active guests can explore a scenic hiking trail of approximately 7 km through the surrounding mountain landscape or discover the farm on a self-drive route that takes about two hours to complete. Along the way, visitors are rewarded with sweeping panoramic views and excellent opportunities to observe the characteristic flora and fauna of the Khomas Highlands.
