Usakos
Town close to the Spitzkoppe
Usakos is situated about 150 km east of Swakopmund and about 30 km west of Karibib along the B2. The town has about 18,700 inhabitants. Usakos was originally built as railway station between Swakopmund and Windhoek.
About 40 km north the Erongo Mountains are to be found and about 50 km away the well-known Spitzkoppe, also known as the “Matterhorn of Namibia”.
The town still has some beautiful colonial buildings. A speciality of the town is toys made of wire, which are sold here.
