Highlights in the Erongo region
Here we provide an overview of activities, highlights and sights of the Erongo region, a in parts surreal looking region. Travellers will find the Spitzkoppe, which is a huge Inselberg, a fomer San cave, a magic granite boulder landscape and much more.
Absolute Erongo
The Absolute Erongo Hiking Trail is a one-and-a-half-day guided hike through the Erongo mountains in the heart of Namibia. You walk through surreal rock canyons and granite forests and immerse yourself in the authentic African landscape.
Bull's Party
At the Bull’s Party on farm Ameib the granite rocks formed by so-called spheroidal weathering are particularly impressive: a dream for photographers.
Phillipp’s Cave
The famous Phillipp’s Cave, situated on farm Ameib in the Erongo, was most probably a San dwelling. Stone tools, dated to 3500 years BC, found in the cave strongly support this assumption.
Spitzkoppe
The Spitzkoppe is one of the most photographed mountain motifs of Namibia. This inselberg surmounts its surrounding by 700 metres with an overall height of 1728 m above sea level.
