Located in the historic mining town of Tsumeb, Kupferquelle Resort is a modern holiday and conference destination that has also established itself as a comfortable stopover on the way to Etosha National Park. The name “Kupferquelle” means “Copper Fountain” and reflects the region’s long mining history. Long before colonial times, the Hai||kom Bushmen were already familiar with the area’s copper deposits. Even the original name “tsomsoub” – meaning “to dig a hole in the ground” – refers to the early use of these natural resources.

Accommodation at Kupferquelle Resort
The family-run resort combines modern facilities with spacious leisure amenities. A particular highlight is the Olympic-size swimming pool, one of only a few of its kind in Namibia and the only Olympic pool in the northern part of the country. The resort also offers a steakhouse restaurant, conference facilities, well-kept gardens, free WiFi, and a small shop catering to self-drive travelers.
Guests can choose between luxurious suites with private kitchens and lounges, double and triple rooms, and modern standard rooms equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, safe, WiFi, and en-suite bathrooms. Family rooms provide more spacious layouts and private terraces with barbecue facilities.
Campers will find large shaded sites with electricity points, drinking water, washing areas, and modern sanitary facilities. The green, almost oasis-like design of the campsite creates a pleasant contrast to the dry surroundings of the region.
Activities and tours at Kupferquelle Resort
Thanks to its location in Tsumeb, the resort is an excellent base for exploring northern Namibia. Day trips to Etosha National Park are especially popular. Visitors can also explore Lake Otjikoto, whose submerged history dates back to the First World War, or visit the famous Hoba Meteorite, the largest meteorite ever discovered on Earth. Cultural encounters in the nearby traditional Tsintsabis village of the Hai||kom Bushmen offer fascinating insights into traditional lifestyles and ancient knowledge of nature and the environment. Additional attractions in the area include caves, lakes, craft centers, and historical museums around Tsumeb.
