National Parks in Namibia
In Namibia there are some of the most fascinating conservation areas in the world.
The Buffalo Game Park (the official name is Buffalo Core Area) is situated on the eastern side of the Okavango in the Kavango region of Namibia. The park has a size of 629 km² and belongs to the 2007 proclaimed Bwabwata National Park.
Daan Viljoen Park

In the close vicinity of Windhoek, only 24 km in western direction, the 40 km² large game park Daan Viljoen is located.
Dorob National Park

The Dorob National Park is a National Park close to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay and was proclaimed in August 2010.
Etosha National Park
The Etosha National Park is a nature conservation area in northern Namibia and is one of the most significant game reserves in Africa. In Namibia it is by far the best known and most important national park. Today the Park covers an area of nearly 22.912 km² and is completely fenced for the protection of the animals.
Kaudom National Park
Wild and sandy National Park
The Kaudom National Park (sometimes referred to as Khaudom National Park) is located in the north-east of Namibia directly at the border to Botswana and at the entrance to the Caprivi Strip. The park has an area of 3842 km² and is situated in the so-called Kalahari Sandveld, a semi-desert area.
Kwando Core Area
The Kwando Game Park (Kwando Core Area) is situated at the western bank of the Kwando river in the Caprivi strip in North-Eastern Namibia. The park is part of the Bwabwata National Park and has a size of 1280 km². The park is suitable for 4x4 cars only and there are a lot of passages which are very sand.
Mahango National Park
The Mahango Game Park (the official name is Mahango Core Area) is situated on the western side of the Okavango along the C48 close to the Popa Falls. The park is small and has a size of only 245 km². The Mahango Core Area is part of the 2007 proclaimed Bwabwata National Park.
Mamili National Park (Nkasa Lupala)
With an area of 320 km² the Mamili National Park (which was renamed to Nkasa Lupala National Park) is one of the smaller game parks in Namibia. It is situated in the most southern parts of the Caprivi Strip, just below the Mudumu National Park and can be reached from Kongola or Katima Mulilo via the C49.
Mudumu National Park
The Mudumu National Park is situated in the Caprivi Strip in the north of Namibia and is bordered by the Kwando River in the west. It covers an area of approximately 1000 km² and has a, for Namibia, unusual landscape: rivers, reed islands and flat areas without any natural elevation.
Namib Naukluft Park
Large protected area in the west of Namibia
The Namib Naukluft Park is an ecologically protected area and was proclaimed in August 1979. The Park has an area of 49,800 km² and at the time of proclamation it was the largest protected area in Namibia.
National Park on the Waterberg Plateau
The Waterberg, a characteristic table mountain, is situated 230 km north of Windhoek and 50 km east of Otjiwarongo: The Waterberg covers an area of 50 by 15 km with a surface area of 400 km².
