The standalone Bush Suite is designed for the highest standards and accommodates up to four guests. Two separate luxurious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, are set beneath an impressive double-volume thatched roof, creating a stylish atmosphere with complete privacy. Amenities include a modern designer kitchen, a spacious lounge and dining area with fireplace, and an expansive terrace with a private 13-metre swimming pool. Large glass fronts, indoor and outdoor showers, and panoramic views over the surrounding bushveld create an authentic wilderness experience. Personal service from a private guide, host, and chef ensures that every stay is individually tailored and truly exclusive.
The history of Okonjima is closely linked to the Hanssen family, who transformed the former cattle farm into a renowned nature reserve. Driven by the vision of seeing predators no longer as a threat but as a valuable part of the ecosystem, they established a pioneering conservation project. Today, Okonjima is home to the AfriCat Foundation, dedicated to the protection of leopards, cheetahs, and other endangered wildlife. The Bush Suite opened in 2006 and has since become the luxurious flagship of this unique safari and conservation concept.
Activities and tours at Okonjima Bush Suite
Guests enjoy private game drives through the reserve and have excellent chances of spotting leopards, hyenas, rhinos, or pangolins in the wild. Particularly fascinating are the insights into the AfriCat Foundation’s research work, such as guided wildlife tracking experiences as part of the leopard monitoring programme. The activity offering is complemented by guided bush walks, birdwatching, and exclusive sundowner drives into the Namibian wilderness.
