Lodge and camping in Stampriet
Located on the edge of the small village of Stampriet, around 60 km northeast of Mariental, the charming Kalahari Farmhouse of the Gondwana Collection lies in the heart of southern Namibia’s Kalahari region. The lodge is set within an unusually green oasis along the Auob Valley, where artesian water brings life to the arid desert landscape, allowing lush gardens, palm trees and shady camelthorn acacias to flourish. The historic farm was established on the former estate of the Van der Wath family and combines the character of a classic country manor with a relaxed rural atmosphere.

Accommodation at Kalahari Farmhouse
The accommodation consists of eleven free-standing chalets built in Cape Dutch style, blending harmoniously into the beautifully maintained gardens. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming, featuring air conditioning, heating, en-suite bathrooms with showers, tea and coffee facilities, and small verandas overlooking the greenery. The property also includes a campsite with several pitches. At the heart of the lodge is the lovingly restored farmhouse with its restaurant, bar, lounge and swimming pool. The restaurant serves fresh farmhouse cuisine, much of it prepared using ingredients produced on the farm itself.
Kalahari Farmhouse is particularly well known for its sustainable farming operation. Large vegetable and herb gardens, greenhouses, stables, an in-house dairy and, more recently, a modern butchery form part of the Gondwana Collection’s self-sufficiency centre. This initiative creates employment opportunities within the region, while many of the products are processed directly for nearby lodges.
Activities and tours at Kalahari Farmhouse
Guests can explore the working farm or join guided excursions into the nearby Gondwana Kalahari Park. Here, red dunes, golden grasses and camelthorn trees define the classic scenery of the Kalahari. Nature drives, sundowner excursions and guided walks through the dunes are available. The close proximity to Kalahari Anib Lodge further expands the range of activities on offer.
