Kapika Waterfall Lodge
Lodge at the Epupa Falls
Kapika Waterfall Lodge is located in the remote Kaokoveld in the far north of Namibia, just a few minutes’ walk from the famous Epupa Falls on the Kunene River. Built high above the riverbank, the lodge offers sweeping views across the Kunene and the mountain landscapes of neighbouring Angola. The region is characterized by ancient baobab trees, makalani palms and rugged rocky hills. According to the operators, Kapika Waterfall Lodge was named after the Himba chief Kapika as a tribute and a sign of connection to the local culture and community.

Activities and tours at Kapika Waterfall Lodge
The lodge works closely with the Ovahimba communities living in the region and offers guided visits to traditional Himba villages. The focus is on authentic encounters and cultural exchange. At the same time, tourism helps create economic opportunities in this remote area while supporting the long-term preservation of the largely untouched Kaokoveld landscape.
Nature lovers and active travelers will also find plenty to enjoy. Guided walks lead along the Epupa Falls and through nearby villages, while sundowner and scenic drives provide impressive insights into the spectacular scenery of Kaokoland. Birdwatchers can discover one of northern Namibia’s richest bird habitats with numerous waterbirds and birds of prey. Rafting excursions and trips along the Kunene River are also available.
