Caprivi Houseboat Safari is idyllically situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, just 10 km east of Katima Mulilo in Namibia’s present-day Sambesi Region, nestled within a lush, shady garden filled with mature Waterberry, Mahogany, and Marula trees. Born from a passion for the river landscapes of the Zambezi River and Chobe River, the lodge offers guests an immersive wilderness experience unlike any other. At the heart of this concept are the specially equipped camper boats, allowing visitors to embark on multi-day safaris along the waterways of the region.

Accommodation at Caprivi Houseboat Safaris
Five rustic yet stylish chalets are located directly on the riverbank, each with private bathrooms and open-front designs that bring guests close to nature. The lodge also offers a comfortable safari tent, glamping options, and well-maintained campsites with electricity and modern ablution facilities. The centrepiece of the lodge is the elevated wooden deck with its lounge bar – the perfect place to unwind while watching the sunset over the Zambezi River.
One of the most memorable highlights is the lodge’s own houseboat safaris on the Zambezi River and Chobe River. On board, guests will find a compact kitchenette with a gas stove, sink, and refrigerator, as well as a dining area. The boats accommodate between two and six guests and are equipped with beds, a shower, and a toilet. Visitors may choose self-catering or opt for half-board during the trip. By day, the leisurely cruise winds through expansive river landscapes, past reed beds and remote sandbanks; by evening, the boat anchors at secluded riverbanks. This style of travel offers exceptional opportunities to observe wildlife from the water – elephants, buffalo, hippos, and a fascinating variety of bird-life can be seen at close range in complete tranquility.
