It is a stylish lodge set within a private 11,000-hectare wildlife reserve in the Erongo Region, approximately 22 km north of Omaruru. The immediate surroundings are characterized by rocky hills, dry riverbeds, and dense bush vegetation. Its location between Windhoek, Swakopmund, and Etosha National Park makes it a strategically convenient base for traveling through the country.

Accommodation at Epako Safari Lodge
Epako Safari Lodge is exclusive: with only ten rooms and suites, it offers a personal atmosphere and a high level of privacy. The accommodation ranges from stylish deluxe rooms to spacious junior suites and luxurious river and waterhole suites. All units are equipped with air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms, as well as private terraces overlooking the surrounding nature or the waterhole. The tasteful African-style décor reflects the charm of traditional farmhouses.
The floodlit waterhole, situated next to the spacious terrace and lounge area of the lodge, attracts a wide variety of wildlife such as oryx, zebras, kudu, giraffes, eland, and even rhinos. Guests can observe them in a relaxed setting while spending time in the open lounge or dining in the restaurant. Additional facilities include a swimming pool, a spa area, and refined cuisine that blends local and international influences, often served under the open sky.
Activities and tours at Epako Safari Lodge
Game drives in open safari vehicles offer encounters with a diverse range of wildlife, including leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and various antelope species. Guided bush walks provide insights into the region’s flora, fauna, and geology. A special highlight is the cheetah rehabilitation program, where rescued animals are prepared for their return to the wild and can be observed as part of dedicated experiences. Further activities include bird-watching, sun-downer drives, and excursions to historic San rock engravings.
