Lodge and Wellness Center south of Windhoek

The luxurious GocheGanas Lodge is located just about 29 km southeast of Windhoek on a ridge in the middle of a private nature reserve covering approximately 6,000 hectares. The name originates from the Damara language and roughly translates to “place of camel thorn trees and candle acacias”. Its secluded setting combines sweeping views over the Namibian savanna with easy access to Windhoek and the international airport. This makes the lodge an ideal destination both as a stylish beginning to a Namibia journey and as a relaxing retreat before departure.

Accommodation at GocheGanas

Guests can choose between 15 elegant chalets and a spacious family suite with two separate bedrooms. All accommodations are privately positioned and offer uninterrupted views across the reserve. Amenities include air conditioning, wooden terraces, comfortable bathrooms, refrigerators, and coffee machines. Some chalets also feature outdoor showers and king-size beds.

The experience is complemented by open-air Boma dinners, picnics within the reserve, and fine dining at the Hilltop Restaurant with panoramic views. The Toko Bar, with its sweeping outlook across the landscape, is another highlight of the lodge.

Activities and tours at GocheGanas

Originally used as a farm, the property changed ownership several times and was at various stages dedicated to cattle and horse breeding as well as dairy farming. Today, GocheGanas is an exclusive nature reserve with a strong commitment to sustainability and the protection of local wildlife and plant species. More than 25 species of large game inhabit the reserve, including giraffes, rhinos, oryx antelopes, zebras, and numerous bird species. Popular activities include morning and evening game drives with experienced guides, guided nature walks, bird-watching, stargazing, and mountain biking.

A special focus is placed on wellness and relaxation. The Wellness Village offers a range of spa treatments in an elegant setting, complemented by heated indoor and outdoor pools, sauna facilities, and a fitness area. The combination of tranquility, nature, and exclusive service has made GocheGanas one of the most renowned wellness lodges in the Windhoek region.
