Lodge and Camping north of Okahandja
The Omatozu Safari Camp is situated on the Omatozu Game Farm approximately 100 km north of Windhoek and about 25 km north of Okahandja, west of the B1 highway. Located on the route to Etosha National Park, this small camp is ideal both as a relaxing stopover and as a base for exploring central Namibia. Omatozu Safari Camp welcomes guests from February to November, while the property remains seasonally closed during December and January.

Accommodation at Omatozu Safari Camp
The camp deliberately maintains an intimate atmosphere and offers a close-to-nature experience. Three luxurious safari tents are nestled among thorn trees and feature en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, electricity and furnished terraces overlooking the garden or the nearby farm dam. The Bungalow is the newest accommodation in the Omatozu Collection and can accommodate up to eight guests. The house features four bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. It also offers a spacious living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a large terrace overlooking the farm dam and a private barbecue area. The accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis; alternatively, meals can be arranged at the main lodge on request. In addition, there are six campsites set slightly apart from the main camp amidst indigenous vegetation. Each campsite offers private ablution facilities, hot-water showers, electricity and a private braai area for relaxed outdoor barbecues under the stars.
The heart of the camp is its open-plan communal area. An elevated wooden deck with a bar, lounge and dining area invites guests to relax and enjoy views across the small farm dam, where wildlife and birds regularly gather to drink. A cosy restaurant with a fireplace creates a welcoming atmosphere, especially during the cooler winter months, while a small swimming pool provides refreshment on warm days.
Activities and tours at Omatozu Safari Camp
The extensive game farm covers around 6,000 hectares and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, kudus, oryx, impalas, waterbucks, elands and ostriches. With a bit of luck, guests may also spot nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, porcupines, honey badgers and brown hyenas. Guided game drives across the farm and guided walks offer excellent opportunities to experience the flora and fauna at close range. Birdwatching, self-guided drives around the property or simply unwinding in the tranquillity of the unspoilt natural surroundings are equally rewarding ways to spend the day.
