Affordable Restcamp south of Windhoek
Capricorn Restcamp is scenically situated on the edge of the Naukluft Mountains, south of Windhoek, making it an ideal stopover for travellers heading to Sossusvlei or from southern Namibia to the Atlantic coast. Located along the C14 with a turnoff onto the M47, it combines easy accessibility with the peace and vastness of the open plains of the southern highlands. Since the camp was established in 2005, it has been managed by Karsten and Yvonne Sodmann.

Accommodation at Capricorn Restcamp
The rest camp offers four cosy bungalows available for single, double, or triple occupancy. Each unit is spaced about 60 m apart, ensuring privacy, and is functionally yet comfortably furnished with an en-suite bathroom, private terrace, and barbecue area.
There is also a well-maintained camping area with four sites, each equipped with a shade roof, electricity point, barbecue facilities, and seating. Shared toilet and shower facilities are available for campers. Breakfast and dinner can also be arranged for camping guests but must be booked in advance.
Activities and tours at Capricorn Restcamp
The immediate proximity to the Naukluft mountain landscape makes a stay here especially appealing. Guests can enjoy sweeping views across the plains, spectacular sunsets, and the peaceful atmosphere of Namibia’s natural surroundings. The area is ideal for hiking in the Naukluft Mountains, observing wildlife in its natural habitat, and taking short exploratory drives through the surrounding countryside. Self-drive excursions to Sesriem and Sossusvlei are also easily possible.
