Namib Naukluft Lodge is situated within the private Namib Naukluft Habitat, a protected reserve covering approximately 25,000 hectares between the vast plains of the Namib Desert and the foothills of the Naukluft Mountains. Located southwest of Solitaire, the lodge borders the spectacular landscapes of the Namib-Naukluft region, which forms part of the Namib Sand Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The reserve provides a protected sanctuary for a wide variety of wildlife within this fragile desert ecosystem.

Accommodation at Namib Naukluft Lodge
The lodge offers 16 comfortably furnished rooms, each featuring an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a private veranda overlooking the surrounding landscape. In addition to the lodge, guests can choose from an adventure camp with 15 chalets and a campsite with eight pitches. The main lodge facilities include a lounge, bar, indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a swimming pool that provides welcome relief during the warmer months.
Activities and tours at Namib Naukluft Lodge
Daily excursions are offered to Sossusvlei, home to some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Guests can also enjoy extensive nature drives through the private reserve, exploring dry riverbeds, open grasslands, and the distinctive flora of the region. For hiking enthusiasts, marked trails in the Naukluft Mountains provide excellent opportunities to experience the area's unique landscapes. The popular Zebra Trail offers insights into the region’s vegetation and geology and can be explored independently or with a guide. Additional activities include sundowner drives to scenic marble hills, as well as the opportunity to book hot-air balloon flights or scenic flights over the spectacular dune landscapes of the Namib.
A particular highlight is the lodge’s own 9-hole golf course. Set amidst the vast desert scenery, it offers golfers the rare opportunity to enjoy their sport against an extraordinary backdrop of red sands, savannah landscapes, and mountain vistas.
