Tented Lodge in the Naukluft Mountains
Moon Mountain Lodge is a luxurious tented lodge situated in the Naukluft Mountains, approximately halfway between the desert settlements of Solitaire and Sesriem. Its elevated position offers sweeping views of fossilized dunes, open plains, and the distinctive mountain ranges of the Namib Naukluft region. Established in 2009 on the Diep Rivier farm, the lodge combines the comfort of an upscale hotel with the natural atmosphere of a tented camp.

Accommodation at Moon Mountain Lodge
The lodge features a total of 17 luxurious units, each with a private splash pool. Many of the accommodations are built on stilts, minimising the impact on the fragile desert environment. The spacious luxury rooms include king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms, refrigerators, and private wooden decks overlooking the desert landscape. The executive suites are even more generously designed and additionally offer separate bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs, double basins, and rain showers. Two of the suites are suitable for families travelling with children.
The lodge is known for its modern Namibian cuisine with regional influences. Breakfast and dinner are served in the Nebula Restaurant, often outdoors on the scenic terrace. The adjoining Cosmos Bar is an inviting place to relax, especially at sunset or beneath the clear night sky. The property also offers a small entertainment area with television, WiFi in the main building, conference facilities, as well as room and laundry services.
Activities and tours at Moon Mountain Lodge
The lodge offers guided excursions to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. Additional activities include sundowner drives, hiking in the Moon Mountains, nature excursions, and hot-air balloon flights. Guests may encounter oryx antelope, springbok, or mountain zebra along the way. Stargazing is also among the most memorable experiences thanks to the exceptionally low levels of light pollution surrounding the lodge.
