The Dead Valley Lodge is located just a few kilometers from the world-famous dunes of Sossusvlei, in a prime setting between Sesriem and the striking Elim Dune, offering breathtaking panoramic views over the Namib Desert. As one of only a few accommodations within the park, it provides a key advantage: direct access to the dunes in the early morning hours, when the light bathes the desert in intense colors and the landscape appears almost untouched and empty.

Accommodation at Dead Valley Lodge

The lodge offers twenty freestanding luxury tented chalets, built on raised platforms, each featuring a private terrace with panoramic views. The design combines the charm of a mobile desert camp with modern comforts such as en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and stylish furnishings. Spacious interiors, refined details, and the secluded setting create an exclusive yet authentic desert experience.

The offering is complemented by high-quality dining with Namibian cuisine, an open bar, and a swimming pool overlooking the Elim Dune—an ideal place to relax after a day in the desert heat.

Activities and tours at Dead Valley Lodge

Activities around the lodge focus on the region’s most impressive natural highlights. Guided excursions lead to iconic sites such as Deadvlei, the world’s highest dunes like “Big Daddy,” and the famous Dune 45. Trips and hikes to Sesriem Canyon as well as the nearby Elim Dune are also available. Thanks to its location within the park, guests can set off particularly early for sunrise drives or experience the dunes during the atmospheric evening hours.
