Lodge and camping in the Namib Desert
At the edge of the ancient dune landscape of the Namib, around 60 km from Sesriem, Namib Desert Lodge is situated at the foot of fossilized red sand dunes. The lodge is part of the renowned Gondwana Collection Namibia and lies within the Gondwana Namib Park – a protected desert landscape whose distinctive petrified dune formations are among the oldest in the world and display spectacular colour changes, especially in the early morning and evening light.

Accommodation at Namib Desert Lodge
A total of 66 rooms are available, including twin, double, family and triple rooms. The bungalow-style accommodations are spread out along the dunes and feature air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms with shower, verandas, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. One room has been specially adapted for guests with limited mobility. For budget-conscious travellers, eight covered self-catering tents with private bathrooms, kitchenette facilities and seating areas (Camping2Go) are also available. Additional facilities include a restaurant, bar, two swimming pools, Wi-Fi access and secure parking.
Activities and tours at Namib Desert Lodge
Guests can enjoy excursions into the famous dune landscapes of Sossusvlei, including guided sunrise drives into the Namib Desert, where the shifting light beautifully highlights the red dunes. Nature drives through the Gondwana Namib Park are also offered, providing insights into the geology, wildlife and remarkable adaptability of the desert flora. In addition, guided night walks give visitors the chance to discover nocturnal animals and scorpions. Those wishing to explore independently can make use of the marked walking trails starting directly from the lodge.
