Guestfarm and Camping west of Outjo

About 400 km north of Windhoek, halfway to Etosha National Park, Bambatsi Guestfarm is situated in the vast Mopane savannah of northern Namibia. This long-established farm lies on an elevation of around 1,234 m and offers impressive panoramic views over the surrounding landscape. Its peaceful setting, together with its proximity to popular excursion destinations such as Fingerklip, Twyfelfontein and the Petrified Forest, makes Bambatsi a popular stopover for travellers exploring Namibia.

Accommodation at Bambatsi Guestfarm

Bambatsi is one of the oldest guestfarms in the country and has long been known for authentic Namibian hospitality with a German-speaking tradition. The welcoming family atmosphere shapes the experience from the very first moment: guests enjoy the typical “South West charm,” reflected in the warm service and relaxed surroundings. The farm is run by the Hälbich family, who place great value on personal service and give visitors an insight into rural Namibian life.

There are spacious, well-appointed bungalows for two to four guests, equipped with shower, toilet, electricity, and comfortable sleeping areas. Mosquito nets provide additional comfort, while private verandas offer the perfect setting to enjoy spectacular sunsets over the savannah. The accommodation is complemented by a well-maintained campsite with generous pitches, barbecue facilities, and modern ablution blocks with hot-water showers. 

The spacious swimming pool area with viewing terraces invites guests to relax after an eventful day. Culinary highlights include homemade German-Namibian cuisine, with freshly baked cake served in the afternoon.

Activities and tours at Bambatsi Guestfarm

For active travellers, Bambatsi offers a variety of opportunities. Directly from the farm, walking trails through the Mopane woodland and the surrounding hills invite guests to enjoy wildlife and bird watching. Thanks to the pleasant climate throughout the year, nature excursions are possible in every season. In addition, the farm serves as an excellent base for day trips to some of Namibia’s best-known attractions.
