Guest farm and Camping east of the Etosha National Park
Sachsenheim Guest farm is located in the eastern part of Etosha National Park, only about 25 km from the Von Lindequist Gate, and has been owned by the same family for three generations. Sachsenheim was founded in 1946 by Hermann Sachse, who established the farm in the remote bushveld. The name Sachsenheim means “home of the Sachse family”. From its humble beginnings with simple accommodation and its own water supply, the farm has developed over the decades into a welcoming guest farm for travellers from all over the world.

Accommodation at Sachsenheim Guest farm
The lodge is one of the more affordable accommodation options near Etosha and offers standard rooms, luxurious rooms, and family rooms. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and comfortable beds. The standard rooms feature single beds, while the luxury rooms are designed with an African-inspired atmosphere and include a minibar. The family rooms can accommodate up to five guests. The accommodation is complemented by six campsites and four private camping sites with their own ablution facilities. The camping areas provide electricity connections, hot showers, and barbecue facilities.
In the central area of the guest farm, visitors will find a restaurant serving a farm buffet, a bar, and a swimming pool that offers a refreshing break after excursions. Free Wi-Fi is available in the pool area. Packed lunches can be prepared for guests leaving early for visits to Etosha National Park.
Activities and tours at Sachsenheim Guest farm
The spacious farm gives guests an insight into everyday life on a Namibian family farm. At the farm’s own waterhole, visitors can observe wildlife and numerous bird species. Other activities include excursions into Etosha National Park, farm drives with wildlife viewing, and sundowner tours. Various animal species can also be spotted on the farm grounds, while the surrounding area is ideal for birdwatching and photography. Excursions to Tsumeb or the famous Hoba Meteorite offer additional opportunities to explore the region beyond the national park.
