Lodge and camping in the Etosha National Park
Halali Camp is centrally located in the famous Etosha National Park between Okaukuejo and Namutoni and is considered one of the park’s long-established accommodation options. The denser vegetation surrounding Halali regularly attracts elephants, rhinos, and leopards, making the area one of the most exciting wildlife viewing regions in central Etosha. Particularly well known is the illuminated Moringa waterhole, located only a few minutes’ walk from the camp, where spectacular wildlife sightings can often be enjoyed late into the night.

Accommodation at Halali Rest Camp
The camp offers a total of 40 double rooms, five honeymoon suites, and four wheelchair-accessible rooms. In addition, there are 20 spacious Bush Chalets with one or two bedrooms and private barbecue facilities. Families especially appreciate the two Family Chalets, which feature self-catering facilities, a lounge area, and outdoor space. Travelers with camping equipment can make use of 58 campsites equipped with electricity and water connections, as well as modern sanitary facilities with wheelchair access. The accommodation units are spread out among the trees, ensuring privacy and tranquility in the heart of the bush. Additional facilities include a swimming pool, a small shop selling groceries and souvenirs, a fuel station, and picnic and barbecue areas.
Activities and tours at Halali Rest Camp
The name “Halali” originates from German and traditionally refers to the signal marking the end of a hunt. Today, the name symbolically reflects the transformation from a historic hunting area into a modern wildlife and nature conservation region. The camp is located within one of Africa’s largest savannah conservation areas, home to protected species such as black rhinos, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and large herds of zebra and springbok. Namibia Wildlife Resorts follows sustainable concepts in environmental management and nature tourism in order to preserve these sensitive ecosystems for the future. Among the most popular activities are guided morning, afternoon, and night game drives organized directly by the camp. Thanks to its central location, many of Etosha’s famous waterholes can easily be reached from Halali. Wildlife sightings are especially rewarding during the early morning and evening hours.
